About Us

National Center for Livestock Breeding, Genetics & Genomics (NCLBG&G) is being established in Pakistan to address the core issues of the livestock sector. Overall mission of the NCLBG&G is to improve food and nutritional security and to reduce poverty in the country through research in terms of improved genetic potential of indigenous livestock for efficient, safe, and sustainable use of livestock-ensuring better lives through livestock. Followings are the objectives of the National Center:

Degree Programs

M. Phil (Animal Breeding & Genetics)

Description: 
A minimum of four semester\'s duration programme.

Eligibility:
 Minimum 16 years of education i.e. B.Sc. (Hons.) Animal Husbandry OR B.Sc. (Hons.) Poultry Science, OR B.Sc. (Hons.) Agri. (Major Animal Science) OR B.Sc. (Hons.) Animal Science OR DVM OR other equivalent Animal/Veterinary Science degree subjected to qualifying the deficiencies as prescribed by the Department Board of Studies with CGPA not less than 2.50/4.00. Must have passed university test with at least 50% marks.

Ph. D (Animal Breeding & Genetics)

Eligibility:
M.Sc. (Hons.)/M.Phil. in the relevant subject department with deficiency courses if needed as decided by the Board of Studies and first division in relevant field OR CGPA of at least 3.00/4.00. The Ph.D. applications must be accompanied by comprehensive project proposals. Must have passed university test with at least 70% marks.
